United Arab Emirates / First waste incinerator in Dubai will be constructed
Dubai, with 750 kg of waste per capita per year (300 kg more than in Germany), plans to construct a EUR 1.2 billion incineration plant. The facility will be constructed in Al Aweer and will have a capacity of 6,500 tons of waste a day, which will be converted into 150 MW of electricity. It is expected that the plant will be operational in 2013.
